  • Milli Vernon - 1956 - Introducing Milli Vernon

    Millie Vernon(Vo)
    Rudy Braff(Tp)
    Dave Mckenna(P)

    Jimmy Raney(G)
    Jo Jones(Ds)

    7 Moon Ray
    8 Everything But You
    9 Every Time
    10 Blue Rain
11 I Don't Know What Kind Of Blues I'Ve Got
12 I Gluess I'll Have To Hang My Tears Out To Dry

With its intimate, closing-time atmosphere and thoughtful performances, Introducing Milli Vernon boasts a maturity and honesty that cut surprisingly deep -- despite Vernon's relative anonymity, she's a compelling vocalist with a genuine sense of style and drama. Of course, it's the names below the title -- trumpeter Ruby Braff, guitarist Jimmy Raney, and pianist Dave McKenna among them -- that many jazz buffs will find most appealing, and while their contributions are firmly within the Storyville label's signature style, the session's overall emphasis and atmosphere and mood means their contributions are largely subordinate to Vernon's voice. That said, this is a solid album, even if some of the material is a bit too slight; given the right song, like "I Don't Know What Kind of Blues I've Got," Vernon excels. ~ Jason Ankeny, Rovi

Someone song is best in the white woman jazz singer? When with it is heard, listing the name of this Terry Morel it is not strange, probably will be. But the numbers of the records are few extremely, passed only two peaces are even with the net sight of Amazon. But she has shown the capability with these one how without. Whether the singing which has elegant amorousness, the song power which is not offensive, natural jazz feeling, taking whichever, it is splendid. In the excellent performance of the quartet who adds the Herbie Mann of the jazz flute where the she is unusual in the back, the famouse songs stating numbers are thought, she has announced freely. The stage of sound recording is Long Island's supper club, but being live, it is not many so the singer who can sing this much song. Please until heart it goes, enjoy the numbers of the jazz song due to the member her who is by the historical excellent disk which was sent from the Bethlehem label and hides and please.

  • Beverly Kenney - 1960 - Like Yesterday

    1. Undecided
    2. Sentimental Journey
    3. I Had The Craziest Dream
    4. And The Angels Sing
    5. More Than You Know
    6. The Dipsy Doodle
    7. What A Diff'rence A Day Made
    8. Somebody Else Is Taking My Place
    9. Sunday Kind Of Love
    10. Any Old Time
    11. Happiness Is a Thing Called Joe
    12. Tampico

With Like Yesterday Beverly Kenney updates a series of pop standards with a formula rooted in the archly modern sound of Eisenhower-era jazz—experienced decades after the fact, the album boasts a timelessness that renders its basic conceits of time and place moot, especially given that the fierce intelligence of Kenney's phrasing and the sultry depth of her vocals contrast so sharply with the Doris Day stereotypes associated with the period in question. Backed by a small but exemplary supporting cast including guitarist Chuck Wayne and reedist Jerome Richardson, Kenney eschews embellishment and excess in favor of lean, taut arrangements that emphasize emotional context—her readings of familiar songs like "More Than You Know" and "A Sunday Kind of Love" possess a startling intimacy.

    11.Oh, You Beautiful Doll
    12.Goodnight Sweetheart

Meg Myles is a famous American actress that was born on November 14, 1934 in Seattle, Wasghinton.

Meg Myles凭借其42-24-36的傲人三围在5、60年代曾是风靡一时的壁画女郎,她还在不少电影里出演歌手,并因此受赏识而在Liberty Records公司旗下推出了她的这张个人唱片Just Meg and Me,伴奏的乐手有Benny Goodman、Tommy Dorsey以及Billie Holiday的搭档Jimmy Rowles。 Meg Myles At The Living Room。

Paradise、More Than You Know、Last Night On The Back Porch都是令人专注的煽情之处。

    11. Why Remind Me
    12. It's Easy to Remember

Julie Wilson (born October 21, 1924) is an American singer and actress.
